    Access Pricing In Canada

Has anyone been able to get a toyota dealer to negotiate below the
access.toyota.ca price? How about getting some extras (roof racks etc)
thrown in? In Calgary all the dealers seem to be sticking to their
    guns on price.

When I bought my Tacoma there were no 2002's available in BC so I had to get
a 2003. The dealer split the difference in the price with me so I got a deal
    that way.
All the other dealers were take it or leave it, even on the extras.

Talk to Gary Brake at High River Toyota. I figure I saved 5K on my
03 4Runner Limited by driving down there. And Wetaskiwin Toyota is
an Internet dealer, IIRC. Almost bought my 98 Limited there, but
Stampede matched the price and threw in the service manual for $100.

    Re: Access Pricing In Canada

Personally, I think the "Access Toyota" price is a crock of sh!t. Certainly
this is the case in Newfoundland. According to the website, the access
price is adjusted to competitive realities and other market forces.

I say bullshit. First of all, don't insult me by taking $90 off the price
of a $30,000+ Tacoma. Secondly, don't set the prices the same for every
dealer across the island. Each dealers market is different.

For example, in St. John's things are very prosperous. In Gander, on the
other hand, the economic outlook is not so good, but there are still many
competitors in the town. So why is the access price the exact same?

I think is about time that toyota dealers start thinking that it is they who
are given the privilege of serving customers. Currently, I think their
mentality is arrogant, to the point that they believe that the customer
should be so lucky to have the privilege to buy a Toyota.

Personally, Access Toyota is just another name for price fixing by the
    manufacturer.

    My two cents worth,
    - Billy
