Subaru: '99 Legacy Outback Dome Light Problem

I have a '99 Legacy Outback with 60k on the odometer and just noticed
that my dome light no longer comes on when any door is opened or when
unlocked with the remote. The bulb is fine since the light does work
when switched on manually. Any ideas?
