    97 Wrangler Tires

    Folks,

It's time for the wrangler to get new tires. I use the truck mostly for
highway driving and my local Mavis (hey, I'm poor) wants to sell me either a
Continental (highway) or a Kelly tire. Any suggestions on which will give me
the quieter ride and traction in mud and snow?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

I don't generally like uniroyal tires (bad experience years back) but
a lot of research led me to the Uniroyal Laredo "Cross Country".

I've had them on since the start of November 04 and have been very
pleased with their behavior/performance so far.

This is on a Jeep Cherokee that runs roughly 85% pavement, 10%
gravel/dirt road, and 5% offroad (fields, trails, etc).

They are good pavement tires and behave respectably in snow/ice, and
odd conditions like wet grassy fields and so forth. They certainly
aren't mudders, but I haven't gotten stuck yet (driving cautiously in
    mud).
