Pontiac: 97 Grand Prix - Electrical Problem

I have been watching for a similair post, but cannot find anything out
here like this one. 97 GP, the heater blower motor and resistor have
been recently replaced. All of a sudden the headlights, the computer
display and blower have been shorting out. My head lights flash
(switch off) the computer display is out and the blower only sometimes
works on high. Then all is well for a few days. I hear a
circut-breaker or relay clicking out of a silver box located under the
dash to the left of the sterring column. If I manually turn on the
headights the clicking stops. Sometimes it's just a day or two, now
it's been almost a week. I could try and replace the box that the
clicking comes from, but don't know whether it's the cause or effect.
Has anyone else encountered anythink like this, please advise, I'm
either freezing or driving with the window down. I don't suspect the
hearter relay, as when the lights and computer are working all of the
fan speeds are fine. Also, no rear defrost or AC when this happens.
What is that mystery box?

Had a similar problem with my 97 Gp. I had the Ignition Switch replaced
and it took care of everything. If i remember it cost me $250.00
(112.00 parts + 138.00 labor) at the local dealer. Good Luck.
