BMW: '97 540i Limp Mode - Help

I need help with my 1997 540i.



1. Would a cylinder with substantially lower compression that the other

cylinders (120 vs 200) cause the computer to go into limp mode?



2. In limp home mode, which cylinders run normal and which cylinders are
shut off?



3. The OBD computer is registering "misses" in cylinders 5,6,7,8, (bank 2
only) - could this be cause by the engine going into limp mode?
