    '94 shift knob removal

Can anyone tell me the procedure for removing and replacing the shift knob
    on a '94?

Pop off the shift pattern bezel. Then there will be a silver metal piece.
Get some pliers and pull straight up on the silver metal piece.
This is a key lock. After you pull off the metal piece you can just
    spin off the knob.
At least on mine the factory had the knob too high for me.
I spun it a lot farther down when reinstalling.

is there a fix for the problem of the reverse collar vibrating? this sound
    is so annoying.

i assume i have to take off the knob to get to the collar. does the collar
come off, or is there a tightening setscrew somewhere?

What I did was stuff some paper down the shifter tube. (with the knob off)
If I remember right I folded some small pieces lengthwise and stuffed
them in. Then checked to make sure it wasn't so tight that the ring
wouldn't drop when released. Been a couple years ago, still not
    vibrating.

    Cheesy but it worked. :-)
