86 22r volt light on
Could someone tell me please the first things to check when this occurs.
Its my buddys truck, and he immediatly replaced the alternator thinking this
was the problem, as the battery was not charging properly.
Truck now has new battery and alternator.
Thanks

A no charge from the alternator

Inasmuch as the Democrats are complaining on how long the war is taking,
consider this:
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the
Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.
It took less time to find Saddam's sons in Iraq than it took Hillary
Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to
destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Teddy Kennedy to call
the police after his Oldsmobile sunk at Chappaquiddick.
It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in
Florida! TWICE!!!!!
Damn our military is GREAT!!

Check the IGN fuse. Mine blew and stopped the alternator charging. Quick clue in
my case was erratic gauge (fuel/temp/tacho) operation, but the gauges seem to
return to normal when my lights were turned on. Failing that there is a
regulator unit whick controls the rate of charge. Mine is on the passenger side
of the engine bay behind the air cleaner box. Its about 2.5" x 1.5" x 2" black
box probably marked with nippon-denso or ingrams on it. Just for your info I
have a right hand drive. I dont know if that will make much difference but
seeing as the americans havent figured out what side of the road to drive on yet
all their cars seem to have componants installed on the opposite side of the
vehicles.LOL
No offence intended to any americans reading this.
Hope this helps
