    '70 conv. question

Have removed the rear #1157 bulbs from the taillight/turn signal combo
and replaced with the new LED type.
The fit is fine but now the flasher, even a new replacement tried, won't
flash the bulb. It remains in the bright
    position.
Is there a special flasher to purchase or is there an entire kit
marketed for the new brighter, safer LED's?

Your problem is that there's not enough resistance seen in the circuit with
the LED's since they are such a low draw item. To the flasher unit, which
heats up a bimetallic strip to make/break contact the end result is the same
as if there was no bulb back there at all: the bulbs light up and stay lit
    up.

Check with the outfit that manufactured the replacement bulbs and see what
they say. There must be an aftermarket flasher that's been adapted to work
    under that low resistance load.

Congrats on the LEDs the ones I've seen look
sharp and the flashing is really 'crisp.'

Sort of a 'cheesy' solution but a temporary fix
would be to parallel 1157s across the wires
to the LED unit (or more accessible, the wires
to the front turn signal bulbs) and hide it from
    view (and temp sensitive stuff.)

You have that backwards...there's too MUCH resistance in the circuit. The
higher the resistance, the lower the current (Ohms Law). A solution would
be to put a resistor across the LED bulbs (in parallel) to LOWER the
resistance and INCREASE the current through the bimetallic strip. You would
have to experiment to get the right value or contact the people that made
    the LED "bulbs".

Of course, you are correct. We're in the same church but different pews.

Hehehe...didn't mean to sound condescending. I'm anxious to hear what fix
    the manufacturer recommends...
