Corvette: 62 rocker panel finish

I am refinishing the rocker panels on my 62 and wondered if anyone knows how
the rocker panels were finished? Obviously the base metal is aluminum but
was it just polished and anodized or was it actually plated? The repros are
listed as brite anodized but I do not know if this is actually correct.
