    320tdes

Hi has anyone on this group got a 320 td es? I was thinking of getting one
and was lent one by my local dealer to test drive. Everyone told me that
once I had driven a BMW I wouldn't want to drive anything else. Well in
fact the reverse is true - I have never ever in my life driven a car with
such a terrible clutch. It is extremely heavy - snatchy - and with a lot of
play - making it tiring to drive in traffic.

Could it just be the car I was given to test drive? I am sure that if all
BMW's were like this no one would ever buy them!

I'm used to mine now, but my wife's Mondeo always seems so much easier to
    drive in traffic!

Well, they're obviously not all like that given BMW's huge sales
volumes in Germany, the UK and the US . If you had a loaner, it may
well have been abused or had some other malfunction as a result of
cack-handed operation. I would definitely try another 320d/td manual
before writing it off. None of the reviews I have read - and there
have been many - have said anything about a poor clutch. Heavy,
    perhaps, but not unusable.
