Chevrolet: 2007/2008 Malibu 4 cylinder questions

Unfortuneatly my daughter just wrote off my 2003 Malibu , man i loved that
car! Great looks , great to drive and no problems whatsoever with it , but
that being said , i've been looking at the 08 Malibu and some low mileage
07's to replace my baby and was wondering what people felt about the 4
cylinder engines in these newer Malibu's.

Any bad/good experiences , with the price of gas i'm leaning to the 4 cyl.
but just wonder about the power with these bigger car bodies.

I have an 08 with the 4 cyl. and it get along pretty good. Acceleration
is ok. Only have around 4k miles on it now.
Gets about 20-22 mpg around town and 30-32 on the hwy.
