I just picked up my 2004 Black with black interior automatic Thursday. Its
been on order since Sept. I got it for MSRP -500 bucks as agreed to when I
ordered it. I am a big guy (325) and other then a tight fit getting in, it
is a perfect fit once inside. My last GTO was a new one in 1965 and I think
this one is quicker and more fun to drive but the 65 was more classy and
will always be my favorite. I do love this one to though.

I fionally got to sit in one the other day. I'm 6'1", 260ish myself. I was
happy to be able to fit comfortably in the drivers seat. But then I tried
to get in the back. This is ridiculous! You have to lose your seat
adjustment every time someone gets in the back! And, as someone pointed
out, what happens if you're in an accident and have no power? How do you
get out then? Pontiac needs to fix this one...

If you are talking about the auto door lock in drive, that is a long time
feature of GM cars. My fathers 80s Buick Park Avenue had this feature. I
also don't feel comfortable with it so I disabled it on mine. That is one of
the features of the personalization program in the computer. Most of the
features can be modified or disabled in this car.
As far as the back seat is concerned, I consider the back seat a Childs seat
or parcel storage as in most 2 door pickups. If you want a four passenger
car I would suggest a four door car.

errrmmm, I hate to tell you all this, but the lock is not power
only... you can flip the lock open as easily as you can open the door.
That little feature helps mainly because it prevents people outside
the vehicle from opening the door when you're unawares (like at an
intersection car-jacking) or when the door should be closed anyhow,
like when you go around a corner.
IF you want proof that your car's locks don't need power to open,
disconnect your battery and lock the door.
As far as the rear seats go, most people don't carry more than 2
people in a coupe if they're smart, because you do tend to lose the
space anyhow. The rear seats are mainly for kids or parcels anyhow
like Dave said.
I only wish I could try one of these guys on for size... Since I'm in
Canada, my dealer won't be getting any of these in.. which is a real
shame

The biggest surprise I got when I picked mine up was the size of the trunk.
It is tiny! Something like 9 cubic feet. I understand the reason is that GM
had to relocate the fuel tank from its location in the Holden Monaro and the
only place was the trunk. Actually it is not a problem for me as I have been
driving Pickups and Jeep Wranglers for years and have not had a trunk..
