    2003 Highlander

Was quite disappointed by the fact that our new Highlander does not have
'automatic locking doors" (When a certain speed is reached in drive...the
doors lock) Took it back to local dealer, their super tech guy was
supprised also, because I had called and he said it was programmable, later
discovered after he hooked up the 'scan tool' that it is not an option on
the Highlander. That programming option is on several other Toyota
vehicles. I think Toyota should have made it selectable by the owner!

Toyota probably got tired of all the complaints from owners of
the vehicles that DO have the automatic locking feature, and it
is after all a simple procedure to press the lock button if one
    wants the doors locked.

The point was, that it was selectable via software, to accomidate the driver
IF they wanted auto locking or not on some of the vehicles, but not the
    Highlander.

Do you have an alarm? Or even a keyless entry? You can program it
yourself, see tyhe alarm operators manual in the glove box. I'm not 100%
on this, and i own an 03 Highlander myself too! ;-)

Dan....the tech looked at both the network Toyota compter for instructions
etc. and hooked his tool to the connector under the dash and went to the
'appropriate area' and the option was not there. If you know different,
please give me some heads up info. Tx Mike.

I will have to get the info from my in-laws. They were in the same situation
you are in. They had it done. I am not sure a scan tool can tell you this
(although I may be wrong) but they mentioned it was a combination of leaving
the ignition in certain position and then shifting some stuff around. Did
you try tundrasolutions.com? maybe someone there would know.
