2003 Corolla After One Year
We are still in love with our 2003 Corolla S after one year of use. The car
is absolutely bullet proof. No problems....none...nada...zip.
We just took the car on a road trip and averaged about 33 MPG. The car
feels bigger on the inside than outward appearances suggest. I'm a slim
6'4" and never felt like I was cramped.
It rides and handles like a bigger car as well, smooth and quiet. But not
that waterbed feel of larger American cars.
We passed a lot of semi's on a single lane highway. The engine did not
behave like a typical 4 cylinder at all. It passes quite comfortably with
plenty of power.
It looks awesome in silver as well. HIGHLY recommended.

Humm ... my 4cyl '03 Camry SE gets virtually the same (34
mpg measured) with AC on whole time. I hope for better after
more miles are racked up.

Re: 2003 Corolla After One Year
The car is smooth and quiet on the highway, reminiscent of a larger car.
VERY comfortable for long distance driving. The engine and road noise is
subdued, a very comfortable highway car..
IF you floor it...in order to pass on the highway or floor it from a stop to
drag race...then engine noise increases, but that's to be expected.
I got around 33MPG on the highway. Our route took us on a single lane
highway with lots of semi-truck traffic. I had to pass trucks constantly for
about 300 miles.
I am quite sure gas mileage would have been better had I not done so much
passing (with the CD blasting, the air conditioner cranking, and the sun
roof open!!).

Re: 2003 Corolla After One Year
I have a 2004 Corolla S in Titanium Silver and it is probably the
coolest vehicle I have driven in it's class. I did not have even the
slightest of problem for 4 months of ownership. I cannot hear a single
rattle or noise. The construction is that good. Give it a little time
and you will see the new Corolla would become the benchmark in compact
cars.
