    2002 hot air

I have a 2002 xlt and im not too happy with the ventalation. when the vent
is on cold it blows warm/hot air, even when it is on high. Then the speeds,
the first three are very low and the high one is like a tornado.
does any one feel this way , can this be modified ?

'02 should still be under warranty.... what does the dealer say and, more
importantly, what does the thermometer (both inside the car and outside the
    car) have to say???

Ventilation in my '99 is totally inadequate. The vent position on the
system blows heated air no matter what. This problem does not seem to
be unique to Ford products, all manufacfturers have done away with
vents that bypass the heater system (remember when we had cowl vents
and vent wings on the front windows?). It seems like it is necessary
to run the air conditioning unless the outside conditions are quite
cool. I have not consulted the dealer on this one as I feel sure that
this is in the "no problem found" or "they all do this" category.

I think what they have done away with is shutting off coolant flow through the
heater core. On the Ex's witht he auto climate control they have a shut off
valve on the heater lines. On my 2002 EB the vent position actually seems to
    work.

    I have a 2002 EB with dual-zone and the auxiliary (rear) system. I don't
know if the dual-zone system is a big difference over the standard system,
but I have no complaints at all about its performance, both in the summer
    and in the winter.
