Re: 2002 Explorer with intermittent "jerking" when accelerating
Chek some of the symptoms of some of the members in this forum in conection
to the 5r55w transmision and the torque converter, I don't mean to bust your
bubble but you better check www.alldata.com and check for the bulletins,
they know that the converter in this vehicle might leak but they don't said
s&#t about it

Jim, you're a great resource on the NG, and your customers are lucky to have
you, but...
I change my own oil. I don't give a rat's ass about saving money, I do it
because I don't trust the barely trained monkeys that actually perform the
oil changes at the shops around here. There are no master mechanics doing
oil changes... they are barely out of high school, waiting for a factory job
to open up. They wouldn't know a leaking tranny seal if it bit them in the
butt. Chunks of pistons and bearings could fall out of the oil drain hole,
and they wouldn't give it a second thought. That's reality on the planet I
and most of us live, so don't be so hard on us, eh? <grin>

guess what mine has always been change at the dealer and haven't check
jack*&&t for leaks
and if they sell me a sealed trans it not supose to leak otherwise it would
have somewere to check and to refill it don't you think, sorry, YOU LIVE out
of persons like me so don't lecture me on what to expect of me dealer, I'm
paying a lot for this truck and expected more.
And let tell you something I experiense same jerkiness on a sunny day so
that crab from spark plugs desn't cut it.
And by the way, if we had the access to Ford data we wouldn't be here in the
first place.

I have to agree. How are you supposed to know if you are developing a leak if
there's no dipstick.
