Infiniti: 2000 G20 starting issues

i’ve got a 2000 g20 and the other day i tried to start the car and the
engine fires up but immediately goes dead. i can push down on the
accelerator after firing up to rev the engine but just goes dead when
i release. the car’s got 150k on it and it’s never been in a major
accident before, help would be greatly appreciated.
