Ford: 1996 Contour: %&#*(&^&^!! stuck driver's window...

Window motor GEAR has broken. New gear motor assembly is about $60 at
AutoZone. Door panel pops off pretty easy, but there may be a couple of
hidden screws. Three bolts hold the motor to the bottom of the door. If
the motor has never been replaced, it may be necessary to drill three
holes at the dimpled places on the door to remove/replace the bolts
holding the motor.

car by the outside mirrow has to come out so you can then remove the
whole window glass.. this is so you can get your hand into the small
opening inside the door to remove the window regulator.. the dealer had
a list price of about $160 for the window regulator, i got it for about
