1995 Q45 "low battery charge" indicator
The "low battery charge" indicator came on the display at the same
time the ABS and Brake light came on. Has this happen to anyone and
is it time for a new alternator? I checked the voltage and there is
no charge and hovers around 10-11 volts.
It also seems strange that the brake lights came on with this problem.
Thanks

It is to scare you into fixing it immediately.

The alternator was the problem. I worked a whole Saturday that
included many beer breaks. I guess in total (minus the beers), it
took me 4 1/2 hours. It would have been 3 1/2 hours if it wasn’t for
the "stop nut" on the back of the long throw bolt through the
alternator. Due to the tight fit, there was no way to hold the nut on
there with your hands and it has to be there. I finally used duct
tape to hold the nut on long enough to get the bolt started. This
took at least an hour of my time figuring it out and the service
manual does not comment on the installation of the "stop nut”, it
caught me by surprise.
The car is running fine now and all of the 3 lights (ABS, Brake
Warning, and Low Battery Charge) turned off after the new alternator
was installed.
