Infiniti: 1991 Q45 smell of gas

    1991 Q45 smell of gas

    i keep smelling gas through my vents when i turn the heater on and it
    has gotten to where you can smell it after i turn the car off can
    anyone tell me what the problem could be? or where it could be coming
    from?
    And there is a light on my dash that says HICAS i would like to know
    what that is because it will come on and my car acts like it wants to
    die please help

    You should stop driving the car until you locate the source of the
    smell. Commonly at fault are the small hoses that inter-connect the
    left side fuel injector rail to the right. These lay underneath the
    intake manifold; one near the front and the other near the rear.
