05 Nissan Altima - Leaking water

Everytime I use my heater while I drive, a puddle of water accumilates
under the car after the car is stopped and turned off. I called the Nissan
service representative and he said that it was normal condensation.
However, it's a good sized puddle, so I'm wondering if any other 05 Altima
owners experience this or is it just my car that's doing this?

If its water then it isn't leaking from any operating system.

Re: 05 Nissan Altima - Leaking water

I also bought a 2005 Altima a couple of weeks ago and am experiencing
the same thing. I discovered that when you turn on the fan, depress
the recirculate button and the "upper vent" mode is used the AC
compressor will come on even though the AC light does not illuminate.
Kind of like the front window defrost mode. And the AC will remain on
until the car is restarted even if you press the recirculate button
again and open the fresh air vents. This was confirmed yesterday by
one of the local Nissan dealer's service managers. Neither the service
manager nor the salesman could explain to me why this was happening.
Indeed, they were both rather surprised at this behavior.
The water under your car is AC condensate.
Additionally, if you move the mode control to the floor vents(heat) the
recirculate button is deactivated and only the fresh air mode works,
again for no apparent reason the service manager could explain.
I believe that the computer controlling the AC controls was improperly
programmed by Nissan because this only happens with the Altima. The
service manager and I confirmed that another new Altima exhibited the
    same behavior.
I called Nissan North America customer service and explained the
situation. The well intentioned rep started reading the owner's manual
to me(?) Nothing in the manual mentioned this behavior.
I would like this fixed but when I asked the cust serv rep about
talking to a supervisor about it, she told me to talk to the dealer
    first.
Any incite would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the information about the AC situation. I'll try to talk to
my dealer and see if they can do anything.

Isn't that mentioned in the manual? I don't have the manual with me but I
recall reading that if you press the recirculate button the ac will stay on
until you restart the car a couple of times.

I believe that applies only to the windshield defog/defrost.

Re: 05 Nissan Altima - Leaking water

I want to believe that this applies only to some of the 2005 Altimas
even though as I mentioned above I tested another new 2005 with the
service mgr with the same results. I also received a call from Nissan
North Am a couple of days ago and explained the situation again. They
said that they would follow up on it for me with the dealer. We'll
    see...
