    03 Eclipse wipers

Have an 03 Eclipse GS which has a problem with the driver's side windshield
wiper. The other one works perfectly - driver's does not sweep unless
guided by hand, and even then gets out of sync with the other. I think the
wiper motor may be defective, but it does still operate to an extent. Can
anyone offer suggestion on what may be occurring/how to remedy? THANKS!

    Re: 03 Eclipse wipers

A lot of Mitsu wipers are just held on by pressure. The drive stub has
little splines and the wiper arm is simply forced into these splines by
tightening the hold down nut. So I would start by making sure the arm
is firmly pressed on the stub and then tighten the nut. If it has been
running loose for a while it's also possible the splines have wiped out
the bore inside the arm to the extent that there is nothin left to
grab. But then I could well be totally wrong!

Glad I could help. Don't feel bad. I bought a new wiper arm and then
figured it out! $36 if I remember correctly..........
