    `00 Explorer - Won't stay running

A little hard to start but once running, will not idle on its own.

Doesn't matter if engine is hot or cold.

    Any ideas? New plug wires?

Check the IAC. It's the usual culprit for no-idle situations. It probably needs
    to be cleaned or replaced.

Idle Air Control valve. It's a cylindric looking object that's mounted directly
on top of the intake manifold with an electical connector on it. If you have
the SOHC, you have to remove the plastic shroud to see it. It is responsible
for supplying air to the intake when the car is idling because the throttle
plate is closed. That's why your truck runs fine when you step on the gas but
when you try to let it idle, it stalls.
